Harriet Jacobs and Frederick Douglas

Like all other slave narratives, they prove the hardships, accomplishments, and the living conditions that they had to live done each and every day. In these two narratives, Harriet Jacobs and Frederick Douglas shared umteen similarities and differences as slaves in terzetto major categories such as the trauma they experient, their desire for freedom, and their family experiences in life. Throughout both Harriets and Fredericks life, they both had experience very traumatic events. These events take on physical and aflame punishment or abuse that they accepted. Although they experienced different types of punishments from their slave ac cepters, it left both of them feeling embarrassed, vulnerable, and angry. Harriet received sexual torture and emotional punishment from her owners at the young age of cardinal by Mr. Flint. He would show her puritanical pictures, talk to her in a vulgar way, and eventually interrupt her physically.
